Amico & Co: one of the largest refit facility hubs of the Mediterranean

Extending over 65,000 m2 in the port of Genoa, Amico & Co has avant-garde refit facilities. The shipyard has a total of 12 covered refit and repair areas designed for large yachts ranging from 50m to over 100m, equipped with forced heating and ventilation systems, overspray recovery, emission treatment systems and all necessary utilities.

With the 835 ton travel lift, the docking team can haul out, transport indoors and hull block a 60m LOA yacht in just one working day following its arrival in the shipyard.

The 4000 ton ShipLift and related hardstanding area with six slots > 95m, one of which covered by a modular painting hangar, can cater to the larger yachts in the global fleet.

Hauling equipment is completed by a 320 ton travel lift, 470 ton trailer and mobile cranes up to 200 tons plus a 5 tons bridge crane in one shed and 3 tons bridge crane in the engineering workshop.

Amico & Co has a 102 m covered graving dock inside the shipyard equipped with heating, ventilation and emission treatment systems for painting works; it can accommodate 102m LOA, 18m beam, 31m airdraft and 7.4m draught.

For larger projects the shipyard also uses the dry-docks in the port of Genoa, one of which is divided into two sections, independently accommodating two large yachts of up to 90m LOA each. One section is equipped with a 90m telescopic retractable paint shed. The technical marina (20,000 m2 in water) with its 24 refit berths completes the infrastructure of the shipyard and provides a protected calm water area, directly communicating with the shipyard’s new dedicated mooring facility, Waterfront Marina.

Amico & Co constantly invests in new developments to create refit facilities that are second to none. One of the shipyard’s strongest characteristics is the fact that it has completely internal work departments – in-house engineering, painting, joinery, interior departments and a legal department.
